History
The S.E.R. Foundation was established in 1996 in Würzburg by 70 founders and recognized by the Government of Lower Franconia as a public foundation under civil law with its headquarters in Würzburg.
It is non-profit, interfaith, and politically neutral, advocating for peaceful understanding between peoples, cultures, and religions.
The promotion of children’s and youth projects and the ongoing commitment to reconciliation and peace led to the foundation being granted consultative status with the United Nations (ECOSOC) as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2003.
Furthermore, since 2006, the foundation has been associated with DGC (previously DPI ). In 2008, the foundation was granted the next higher status of ‘special’ by ECOSOC. Since 2008, the foundation has also been a member of the NGO Committee of UNICEF.
